Spring RTW 2009: my picks

Every season I look forward to Fashion week to see what each of the designers are doing. There seemed to be two key themes in the labels I particularly enjoyed: a dark, moody, bedazzled look or the complete opposite with sorbet, candy colours, ruffles and frills. My next few blogs are my favourite ranges and my favourite picks from each.

A few of the highlights:
Luella's sorbet colours
Balmain's range was pure genious
Lanvin's high gloss, sorbet & candy hues and bright blocks of colour
Collette Dinnigan is always reliably outstanding and this season saw more of her show stopping glitz
Marchesa was truly divine
Oscar de la Renta had lashings of gold and rich decadance
Elie Saab was frills, sparkles, yellows, butters, blues and violet hues - exceptional
Galliano was one of my favourite with divine sorbet prints and metallics
Alexander McQueen showed more of their trademark hourglass silhouette in pink, lemon, nude and encrusted
Balenciaga was futuristic and irridescent
John Galliano had sheer and colour
Christian Dior was a real highlight
Lacroix had less I liked but the carnation embued pieces were different
D&G took bejewelling to another level
Versace had amazing prints
Temperley ruffled from beginning to end
Monique Lhullier is always outstanding
As is Isaac Mizrahi
Gucci & Givenchy didn't have a lot that appealed to me but Givenchy had the bikepants that I'm expecting to replace leggings this season
Mulberry and Alberta Ferreti had a few appealing pieces for me

My favourites - Balmain, Dior, Valentino, Richard Nicoll, Galliano, Versace.
